We celebrated this legendary woman’s birthday in style in the Brolgas Class.
– We read her life story and discussed her strengths in character.
– We discussed how lucky we are to receive a Montessori Education which is delivered with the utmost respect for the child.
-We also get to use these amazing specially designed materials to learn various concepts in a concrete form.
– The teachers had moments of gratitude to be able to carry out her important work with all the children at Hills Montessori.
– Children were so inspired that some had been dressing up at home as Dr. Maria Montessori! (what a great role model to follow!)
– Children got creative by making special party decorations to celebrate her birthday at school.
– We celebrated with a delicious Sri Lankan Butter Cake, which the children absolutely loved and went for seconds as well! (We used fresh eggs from our very own chickens)
– We also counted Maria Montessori’s age by using the Decimal System Golden Beads. We needed one square of 100, five bars of 10 and five units to make 155.
