Our Teddy Bears Picnic was the perfect way to welcome families into a new school year, bringing together children, parents, staff and board members for a relaxed morning of connection and play. Held on Sunday 22nd February at Castle Hill Heritage Park, the event created a warm, inviting space for families across all classrooms and programs to meet, mingle and enjoy time together outdoors.
A Morning Filled With Fun and Friendship
Families arrived with picnic rugs, outdoor games and plates of food to share, creating a colourful patchwork across the grass. The atmosphere was light and joyful as children, families and staff arrived for a morning of simple, playful fun.
Our two special guest teddy bears were a highlight of the day, keeping the children entertained with:
- Balloon animals
- Bubbles floating across the picnic area
- Limbo and group games
- Gentle, playful interactions that had the children laughing and joining in
The park was filled with laughter, chatter and the happy energy of families coming together at the start of a new year.
Building Community From the Very Beginning
Events like the Teddy Bears Picnic are an important part of our school culture. They offer families the chance to:
- Meet others from across the preschool
- Build early connections that support children’s sense of belonging
- Spend time with educators in a relaxed, informal setting
- Celebrate the start of the year in a way that feels warm, inclusive and child‑centred
This year’s picnic was especially heartwarming, with such a strong turnout and so many families taking the time to join us.
A Heartfelt Thank You
We extend our gratitude to Smruthi our social coordinator and other board members for organising this special event and to every family who attended and contributed to the morning. Your presence and enthusiasm helped make the picnic a wonderful success.
We look forward to many more opportunities throughout the year to come together as a community.
