The Hills Montessori preschool has been established to provide Montessori education to children in the Hills District since 1979. 

The Montessori approach is based upon the natural laws of human development.  Maria Montessori observed that children under six has special kind of mind that she called an “absorbent mind” - a strong desire to explore everything around them using their senses and drives to become independent. 

Our school offers Montessori pre-school program for children 3 to 6 years and Under 3 program for children under 3 years and their parents.

Children at our school are encouraged to explore, investigate and fulfill their natural curiosity about the world around them.  Furthermore, they are also encouraged not only to do things for themselves but also to think for themselves. They will learn how to explore and solve problems for themselves.  Everything in the class is designed to allow the child to become independent – the materials are child-sized and the equipment is laid out in an orderly fashion on low shelves that are easily accessible for the children. The equipment is aesthetically pleasing and is meticulously cared for, which encourages the children to take care of it, too.

Our program is rich and varied combining the Montessori principles relating to Sensorial, Mathematics, Geography, Languages, Practical Life, Creative Experiences, Social Learning and Other Cultures.  

Under the careful guidance of our certified/trained Montessori directresses, children develop at their own pace and learn that school can be an unending adventure – one that inspires a lifetime of discovery.
